"Aim" of the Society

  • To facilitate treatment and organize the rehabilitation of children with Disorders of Sexual Development (DSD) while also addressing associated ethical, legal and social issues.

  • The society also aims to create awareness in both, the public and the medical fraternity, for this condition and to provide assistance to medical health professionals, especially those in peripheral centers for better management of such patients.

  • Besides this, the aim is also to revolutionize research in this area while creating a nationwide database for such children.

"Objectives" of the Society

  • To associate together in one corporate body, all qualified persons practicing or interested in Disorders of Sexual Development and to promote support system to enable them to evolve and help implement the best available strategy for management of children with Disorders of Sexual Development.

  • To establish standards or ethics in the practice of Disorders of Sexual Development and to monitor its implementation in India.

  • To create, maintain and analyze disease specific data bases and surveillance systems across the country.

  • To act as a bridge between society and governmental or non-governmental agencies, both in India and abroad,  to establish the correct liaison and guide legislations affecting  care of or training in Disorders of Sexual Development in India. To develop and implement measures for coordination of governmental, non-governmental and voluntary action for the control and elimination of Disorders of Sexual Development.

  • To promote Disorders of Sexual Development as a part of Paediatrics/Pediatric surgical training/Undergraduate Training.

  • To facilitate the establishment of Disorders of Sexual Development Divisions in universities, medical colleges and health centers of this country and, to found and maintain libraries, in various institutes and states  of India

  • To encourage and monitor clinical, epidemiological, experimental, molecular and any such scientific research works related to the specialty of Disorders of Sexual Development (DSD).

  • To participate in, organize or assist in the organization of meetings, scientific discussions, seminars, symposia, conferences, international updates, Continuing Medical Education    programs, exhibitions, workshops and such events that will facilitate the above said aim so as to keep abreast with latest developments in the area.

  • To publish newsletters, books, directories, pamphlets and any such printed periodicals or seasoned publications that are   pertinent to Disorders of Sexual Development for physicians, paramedics, employers, workers and community on various topics pertaining to safety and environment, for the control and elimination of Disorders of Sexual Development.

  • To provide consultancy services in the area of Disorders of Sexual Development to industrial establishments, state governments, neighbouring governments and NGOs.

  • To guard against or expose or take cognition of any scientific fraud or misconduct or any other misdemeanor pertaining to the specialty of Disorders of Sexual Development.

  • To deal with the money and funds of the society and to approach funding agencies and such institutions of India and abroad to obtain grants facilitating research in this field. To acquire and hold properties, movable and immovable, that may be necessary or advantageous for aforesaid objects.

  • To receive donations for the development of the society and for instituting fellowships, awards, oration and prizes.

  • To undertake all such acts and actions that are incidental to or consonant with the fulfillment of any of the aims and objectives of the society.
